While waiting for Mr Rutland (Osprey O3) to make his evening visit to catch a trout at Horn Mill, a red kite landed in the tree and was looking down at the fish in the water. It took off and dived at the far end of the pool and plucked out a trout. This was a total surprise and was so fast it gave no time to change any camera settings. This is a rare event, and whether it took a live fish, a dead one or a dying fish is open to debate. I have previously posted images of red kites fishing on this website taken at the Ryhall site last year
