These images are from a cold afternoon walking in the Fens, it made a nice change from the Christmas festivities. The stoat was a real surprise; it came out of a ditch and looked at us for a few minutes before running off. The short eared owl perched on the fence in the soft light of the late afternoon sun, even though it was zero centigrade! What a pleasure to have such a variety of wildlife available in one small area, makes a change from the usual waiting all day and seeing nothing
