These images of a male glossy ibis were taken on a trip to Frampton Marsh in Lincolnshire. This bird is a rare sight in the UK and appears as a stray from Southern Europe. I have seen it at other sites but the bird has been so far away making photography very difficult. This bird was in pools of water about 10 yards from the path and was still there after I left with 1045 images on the card. The colours in the bird’s feathers are dependant on the angle of sunlight, and without sun it is just solid black
