The images are of a female pallid harrier, which is a rare bird and does not breed in the UK. This particular bird is the first ever seen in Hertfordshire and is probably on its migration south. It was hunting for voles and mice over rough fields. Getting the focus and correct exposure over the set-aside area was not easy with lots of over and under-exposed blurs !!
