There were two nest boxes with 4 owlets in one and 3 in the other. Some were ready to fledge while others still had their downy feathers. The young birds were ringed, weighed and feathers measured for age. The birds with clean claws indicated they had been out of the nest already into the wet grass. Good news there will be seven more barn owls flying around in Cambridgeshire when these birds have fledged.
