Female osprey 30 (05) has a satellite tracking device fitted and this allows Rutland osprey project to monitor the migration process. The birds have been overwintering in west Africa along the coast line of Senegal and Gambia and are about to start their return 3000 mile trip to Rutland water. With the tracking device on osprey 30 we know that she has moved north 330 miles into Mauritania in the last few days. Hopefully we should see ospreys back at Rutland in the next 2 weeks.
